An Uzbek citizen received a summons from a local military registration and enlistment office in Moscow, despite the fact that he has neither Russian citizenship nor a residence permit in the Russian Federation, Mediazona Central Asia reported.
“I live in Moscow, but I have never been a citizen of the Russian Federation. Accordingly, I cannot be inscipted on any military registration. I have already applied to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, they told me to come and write a request, and also warned that I should not go anywhere on the summons,” said Sirozh Nabiev.
According to the publication, this is not the first time that a summons has been handed to foreigners in Russia. It was reported in early October, that in this way in St. Petersburg they tried to draft a citizen of Kazakhstan into the army. The local military registration and enlistment office admitted that, most likely, the summons came “erroneously”, but they still recommended the man to come in order to “check in and to forget about it.”
In addition, the media wrote that after the “partial” mobilization announced by Vladimir Putin, hundreds of Tajiks living in various cities of Russia, from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok, received summons.
Earlier it was also reported that in Podolsk, Moscow region, a citizen of Uzbekistan was handed a summons demanding to appear at the military registration and enlistment office.
