A number of documents were signed at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) on October 14 in Astana aimed at further developing and strengthening integration ties in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in the field of security.

According to the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan, the following documents were signed:

- on the chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2023 (on holding the next CIS Summit in 2023 in Bishkek);

- about the chairman of the executive committee - the executive secretary of the CIS;

- on holding a regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States;

- on the role of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States in the development of the Commonwealth of Independent States;

- on the international organization for the support and promotion of the Russian language, created under the auspices of the Commonwealth of Independent States;

- on declaring 2024 the year of the volunteer movement in the Commonwealth of Independent States, 2025 - the year of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War - the year of peace and unity in the fight against Nazism, 2026 - the year of health protection;

- on an agreement on the formation of an advisory council of heads of electoral bodies of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States;

- on an agreement on cooperation between the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in combating corruption;

- on the program of cooperation between the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the fight against terrorism and extremism for 2023–2025;

- on the preparation of a draft agreement on free trade in services, the establishment, operation and investment;

- on the announcement of the city of St. Petersburg (Russian Federation) as the cultural capital of the Commonwealth in 2024;

- on granting the Commonwealth of Independent States the status of an observer in the organization of the Collective Security Treaty;

- on the Human Rights Commission of the Commonwealth of Independent States;

- on awarding a diploma of the Commonwealth of Independent States;

- on the statement of the heads of the CIS member states on the development of cooperation in the field of culture;

- on the statement of the heads of the CIS member states on cooperation in the climate sphere.
