On May 24, at the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, as part of the political consultations between Foreign ministries, was held a meeting with a delegation of the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade led by the Director of the Department of South and West Asia, James Hall, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

Representatives of foreign ministries discussed a wide range of issues of Uzbek-Australian affairs and in particular the ways to further advance cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields.

Delegations also exchanged views on expanding the legal framework of relations, in particular with regards to draft intergovernmental agreements for promotion and mutual protection of investments and agreement for cooperation in the field of tourism, which are being reviewed by the parties.

In the meeting was also present the concurrent Australian Ambassador with residence in Moscow Peter Martin Tesch.
