The State Committee for Defense Industry of Uzbekistan issued a statement in which it “categorically denied reports circulated in some media that Uzbekistan hostd a site for production (assembly) of Iranian attack drones used in hostilities in Ukraine.”
"Uzbekistan has never produced weapons and military equipment in cooperation with Iran and is not producing them now," the statement emphasized.
The Committee that such statements, "disseminated through the media without verification," could mislead the public and have a negative impact on Uzbekistan's friendly ties with foreign countries.
Earlier, the Russian-Israeli businessman, the former top manager of Yukos oil company, Leonid Nevzlin, gave an interview to Dmitry Gordon, in which he claimed that Iranian military attack drones were being assembled at a plant in Uzbekistan, and that afterwards, they were being delivered to Russia, which are now attacking Ukrainian cities.
Gordon asked about the possibility of Israeli strikes on plants in Iran, Iraq and Uzbekistan where drones are manufactured and assembled.
“I can't say anything about Uzbekistan. Because Uzbekistan is a neutral-friendly country. I don’t know if Israel knows that drones are being assembled there, I hope they do. An ultimatum from Israel and the United States would be enough for them. And they will stop. As for the regions of Iraq and Syria, Israel can without any doubt be ready to launch missile attacks on these regions. Also to other weapons depots that are not located on the territory of Iran,” the businessman said.
