Uzbekistan-Egypt business forum took place in Cairo on the eve of the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Egypt on Sunday, the Ministry of Investments said.

Reportedly, the event was attended by heads of relevant ministries, departments and industry associations, as well as about 200 business leaders of the two countries.

The speakers noted the presence of significant untapped potential for the development of bilateral investment, trade and economic cooperation and industrial cooperation in priority sectors of the economy.

Presentations were made at the Forum by the heads of ministries, departments and industry associations, in which promising projects were presented. The participants had the opportunity to comprehensively familiarize themselves with the conditions created in a particular sector for conducting investment and foreign trade activities in Uzbekistan, discuss common interests and prospects for cooperation and consider specific project proposals for further joint development.

The Forum also featured G2B and B2B meetings in the specific areas and projects. The open dialogue format has become a hallmark of the current event and has allowed the parties to identify specific points of convergence of interests.

Deals were inked at the Business forum on the implementation of joint projects in the chemical, energy, mining, textile, leather and footwear industries, the development of industrial zones, the implementation of infrastructure projects and the production of food products, as well as in construction and pharmaceuticals.
