At Uzbek Foreign Trade Ministry were held talks with the senior regional trade adviser at USAID Ryder Rogers. The sides reportedly discussed prospects for cooperation, in particular the implementation of the USAID Competitiveness, Trade, and Jobs projects in Central Asia which are aimed at facilitating exports and employment in horticulture and strengthening transport and logistics services across the five Central Asian economies.
The USAID official highlighted the leading role of Uzbekistan with its developed industry in Central Asia. Ryder Rogers called Uzbekistan to host the Central Asian Trade Forum in 2018 in Tashkent.
The Uzbek side offered cooperation to undertake measures to improve the country's position in the Doing Business ranking.
The sides agreed to consider the possibility of engaging international experts to assess the advantages and disadvantages of Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization.
