Delegation of SIEMENS, headed by the company president in Russia and Central Asia Dietrich Möller, visited Uzbekistan on 9-10 October.
According to SIEMENS, the delegation held meetings with the Uzbek PM Abdulla Aripov and the company partners. The counterparts reportedly discussed current and future joint projects in the energy, industrial and other sectors.
The delegation also held a meeting with the first deputy chairman of UzbekNeftegaz Ulugbek Sayidov discussed further technology partnership ties and construction of Uzbekistan GTL plant in Kashkadarya province. The company’s technologies could also be used in the Shurtan gas chemical complex expansion project.
Representatives of SIEMENS held negotiations with UzbekEnergo, and in particular, discussed the issues of modernization of Syrdarya thermal power plant, possibility of using Smart Grid technologies in the Uzbekistan’s electricity grid and development of wind power.
During the meeting with the leadership of Uzbekistan Railways, the sides discussed cooperation in the field of railway track automation, as well as the project of automation of Chukursai sorting rail station.
"We consider Uzbekistan as a promising market and intend to develop cooperation with partners not only in the energy sector, but also in the field of industrial production, transport, automation and security of buildings. All these areas of cooperation are reflected in the Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation signed with the Uzbek Committee for Investments in Berlin in July 2017, during the Uzbekistan-Germany Business Forum,” Dietrich Möller said.
