Elevating the two-way trade up to US$ 1 billion was one of the gaols of the Government of UzbekistanBakhodir Abdullayev, the Uzbek Ambassador to Iran, said at a meeting with Iranian business executives on Monday in Arak, Markazi province, Mehr News reported.
He underscored firm the determination of the two leaders to increase the trade turnover from the current US$ 400 million to US$ 1 billion at their last meeting in Astana.
Speaking of the fact that the Markazi province of Iran has advanced building materials manufacturing, agricultural , pharmaceuticals, oil and gas sectors, Mr. Abdullayev added that Uzbekistan is ready to boost cooperation and trade ties with with the province.
As part of the visit, the Uzbek ambassador met with the senior officials of the province and CEOs of several companies.
