On June 23, the Innovation Minister held talks with officials of the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of Xinjiang of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The parties exchanged views on the medicinal substances synthesis plant project in Navoi province.
The Academy of Sciences of China and the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan signed an agreement on the creation of a plant for the synthesis of medicinal substances in the Navoi province. Based on this deal, after the Chinese investment US$ 10 million in capital and launched the plant, it is planned to produce natural and chemical substances for medicines, including anti-coronavirus drugs worth US$ 36.3 million per year.
Now documents are being developed on the registration of an enterprise in the relevant departments and membership in the free economic zone, as well as the corresponding work is being carried out to allocate land, select the main contractor and supplier of process equipment, carry out construction and installation work, and others.
The Innovation Ministry reported that China is lagging behind the agreed project plan, therefore, it is necessary to step up construction work. The Ministry, if necessary, is ready to provide practical assistance in the implementation of this construction.
