The Indian authorities have suspended the pharmacological license of Marion Biotech.

The company is currently under investigation for its Doc-1 Max cough syrup. An Uttar Pradesh state official said the stoppage order was issued on January 10 when the company failed to provide documentation for the drug.

Doc-1 Max was produced only for export to Uzbekistan, the source of the publication emphasized. Over the past 45 days of production, Marion Biotech has shipped nearly 100,000 packs of the drug.

To date, at least 20 deaths have been officially confirmed as a result of the use of this syrup.

The new Minister of Health, Amrillo Inoyatov, in his letter to pharmacies in early January, instructed to suspend the sale of all medicines imported by Quramax in 2022.
