Footage surfaced on social media showing two girls lying on the ground after being hit by a car near an Almalyk school. As reported by the Tashkent province police department, the traffic accident occurred on May 15 at 7:40 on Tinchlik street.
According to the department, 19-year-old S.Kh., driving a Damas minivan, drove through a red light and hit two 14-year-old schoolgirls who were crossing the road at a crossroads.
The victims were taken to the central hospital of Almalyk, one of the girls was injured, and a forensic medical examination was scheduled.
The Almalyk district police department launched a pre-investigation probe. The Prosecutor General's Office took the case under its control. Later, the department announced the launch of a criminal case under Violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of vehicles charge.
