During his visit to Baku, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Qudratov met with Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikail Jabbarov on Tuesday.

According to the Ministry of Investments, the parties discussed investment, trade-economic and industrial ties between the two countries and the practical aspects of setting up an Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan investment company. They reached an agreement to increase the number of future investment projects to be financed from the fund and to appoint the BOD ahead of schedule.

They considered in detail implementation of joint projects on the construction of water treatment plants, tourism facilities, production of metal products and household appliances, medical equipment, organization of a textile cluster in the territory of the two countries.

The parties also welcomed plans to set up think tanks that will play an important role in developing economic and technological cooperation between the countries, including the exchange of innovative ideas and technological solutions.

At the end of the meeting, the sides reiterated mutual commitment to further expand cooperation, and specific plans and responsible leaders for rapid implementation of the discussed projects and initiatives.
