Photographs circulated on social networks today of a hole in the asphalt on Tashkent’s Istikbol street. This street connects Amir Temur Square and Shakhrisabz street.
The photo shows that a deep hole the size of half a lane had formed in the middle of the roadway, from which steam was rising. Cracks are also visible on the asphalt next to it.
The Mirabad district mayor’s office commented on the situation, clarifying that employees of the district administration had urgently arrived at the scene.
The asphalt, according to the office, sagged due to a break in the heating pipe running under the street. The pit has been fenced off, with emergency services taking measures to rectify the problem, the district administration said.
