President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the Chinese Vice Premier Liu Guozhong on Monday, who landed in The country for the Uzbekistan-China Intergovernmental Committee on Cooperation meeting, the presidential press service said.

During the meeting, Vice Premier Liu Guozhong conveyed warm greetings and well wishes from President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Qiang of China to President Mirziyoyev. The discussions focused on the further enhancement of multilateral cooperation and the deepening of strategic partnership relations under all circumstances and reviewed the progress in implementing agreements reached during the high-level visit to China in January this year.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the fruitful outcomes of the committee's activities, which have led to a steady increase in trade volume and investments, along with an expansion of regular air travel and cultural exchanges between the two countries and focused on achieving balance in trade figures and facilitating the entry of Uzbekistani products into the Chinese market. Additionally, efforts to expedite crucial investment projects in strategic sectors of the economy were discussed, alongside plans to enhance regional cooperation and implement various humanitarian, educational, and tourism programs.

A significant highlight was put on the prompt commencement of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project.
