There have recently been cases of arrests of Uzbek nationals in Kazakhstan who violated Russian law, the press service of the Agency for External Labor Migration reported.
On May 8, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry warned Uzbek that when crossing the Uzbek-Kazakh or Russian-Kazakh border, it is necessary to make sure in advance that there are no obstacles to entry not only into Kazakhstan, but also into Russia. The reason is that Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation signed agreements on mutual recognition and execution of decisions in administrative and criminal cases.
For this reason, the Kazakh authorities are checking for violations of migration and other Russian legislation or unpaid fines.
If violations are detected during the period of stay in the Russian Federation or an unpaid fine, the Kazakh authorities may decide to prevent a citizen of Uzbekistan from entering or leaving Kazakhstan.
According to the agency, the detainees are being held in penal institutions until the Russian side makes a final decision on the violations they have committed.
“In this regard, the fellow countrymen who are returning to Uzbekistan after committing an offense on the territory of Russia are advised not to go to Kazakhstan,” the agency said in a statement.
In turn, the Foreign Ministry of recommended that citizens check on the website of the Main Department for Migration Issues of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the presence or absence of a ban on entry into this country (Services section).
