The Uzbek Ambassador met with the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister in charge of consular affairs, Ali al-Yousef. The parties discussed the prospects of holding consultations on consular-legal affairs between the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries and lifting the visa restrictions for Uzbek nationals.

Ali al-Yousef acknowledged that Uzbekistan was developing rapidly in the region and hosting a number of major events. In particular, in April of this year, the second meeting of the foreign ministers of the "Central Asia-Gulf Cooperation Council" strategic dialogue took place in Tashkent. The parties commended the successful holding of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries in Riyadh in March this year.

"We were very pleased that starting from January 1, 2023, Saudi citizens have been able to enter Uzbekistan without a visa for a period of 30 days. This, in turn, is an incentive to increase the flow of tourists and boost the two-way trade," the minister said.
