Another traffic accident involving a child at an unregulated pedestrian crossing occurred on July 8 in Andijan. According to the Andijan province traffic police, the accident occurred on Uzbekistan street. The driver of a GM Cobalt, 25, hit a girl, 10, who was crossing the street.
The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries. A preliminary investigation has begun.

The Senate recently reported that in the first five months of the year, 65 schoolchildren were killed and 294 were injured in road accidents. In 2023, 263 children were killed and 1,568 were injured on the roads. 57% of accidents were caused by infrastructure faults.
