In the Kukdala district of the Kashkadarya province, a drunk driver stabbed and killed a traffic police officer in the stomach.
According to Kun.uz, on the evening of July 8, the driver of GM Lacetti (license plate 70G364PA) B.S., 58, was driving at high speed. Police officer Elbek Primov, who stopped him, noticed that he was drunk.
The man got out of the car and tried to run away. The policeman began to pursue him. The driver took out a kitchen knife and stabbed the police officer in the stomach several times. He then fled the crime scene.
The officer was taken to a medical facility in Karshi, but doctors were unable to save his life. The driver was detained during a search.
The provincial prosecutor's office reported that on July 9, the district prosecutor's office opened a criminal case against B.S. under Resisting a government official or a person performing a duty and Deliberate murder of a person performing official or civil duty of the Criminal Code.
