President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the visiting Director General of the International Labor Organization (ILO) on Tuesday, the presidential press service said.
Gilbert Houngbo highly commended Uzbekistan’s achievements in ensuring workers’ rights, creating jobs and implementing international conventions. He added that the organization considered the country's experience in this area as a successful model for international study and application.
Reportedly, more than 40 labor -related regulations have been adopted in Uzbekistan with the assistance of the organization in recent years, and 22 international conventions have been ratified.
At the meeting, the parties also agreed to develop and adopt a new country program for 2026–2030.
