The Competition Development Committee has launched an anti-dumping case against the Shangfeng - Bridge of Friendship cement plant in Andijan province, the press service of the committee said.
Several cement factories in the Fergana Valley contacted the department with a complaint against this company. According to them, the Uzbek-Chinese joint venture was selling its products in the domestic market at prices below cost, which is why other manufacturers were on the verge of bankruptcy.
The new chief of the committee, Khalillilla Turakhodjaev studied the situation on the ground and met with representatives of 13 cement factories from the Fergana, Andijan and Namangan provinces, who voiced their problems.
To investigate signs of dumping, the committee sent a request to Shangfeng - Bridge of Friendship, but the company did not provide information swiftly, which is why the department opened a case.
