Year-to-date, Uzbekcosmos agency through space monitoring, has discovered 1,960 cases of fires in fields cleared of crops on a total area of over 23.2 thousand hectares. Gazeta.uz was informed about this by the agency’s press service.
The most burned areas were identified in the Tashkent province - 9638 hectares (439 cases), Surkhandarya province - 5007 hectares (562), Andijan - 3868 hectares (319), Namangan - 2009 hectares (112), Samarkand - 1711 hectares (191), - 931 hectares (54) and Fergana - 65 hectares (11).
Uzbekcosmos said that there was liability for violation of regulations on the protection of atmospheric air, as well as damage to soil and flora.
