The State Security Service (SSS) conducted operations to identify and suppress the illegal trafficking of narcotic and potent substances in different parts of the country, the press service of the SSS said.
In Fergana province, at the Namangan checkpoint, a Damas car driven by a resident of Margilan, born in 1992, traveling along the Tashkent-Fergana route was stopped and inspected.
The check of the car found 9.6 grams of hashish under the back seat. While in a pre-investigation check, 2.8 kg of hashish and 1.3 kg of opium were found in his house.
Then, accomplices of the person living in Fergana and Margilan, born in 1987, 1989 and 2003, were arrested. One of them had previously been convicted of drug trafficking.
In the Khorezm province, in Tuprakkala district, a KIA car driven by a Samarkand city resident, 32, was inspected.
The check found 2.8 kg of opium in the car. As it turned out, the man purchased the narcotic substance in Tajikistan at a price of 6,500 dollars per kilogram and planned to sell it to drug dealers in the Khorezm province.
The suspects were detained, criminal cases were launched under the relevant articles.
