Principal of a school in Pap district of Namangan province forced teachers to sweep the territory of the school. The teachers who refused to comply with the order had to pay 500 thousand soums. In addition, the principal demanded that the teachers collect money from the parents of the students - 20 thousand soums - for lunches for the builders who were repairing the school.
The State Labor Inspectorate conducted a probe into the reports, the press service of the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction said. The probe found that the actions of the principal violated Article 5 of the Labor Code of Uzbekistan and Resolution No. 349 of the Cabinet of Ministers, which prohibits the engaged of workers in work not related to their official duties.
An administrative fine of 50 basic calculation units, or 17 million soums, was imposed on the principal.
