Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke to the Russian president Vladimir Putin over the telephone, the presidential press service said.

The two leaders reportedly discussed the ways to further expand the Uzbek-Russian multifaceted cooperation, deepen comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance ties.

They focused on taking coordinated measures to increase the two-way trade, advance cooperation ties between major enterprises and provinces of the two countries, implement joint investment projects and humanitarian programs, the statement emphasized.

The presidents also reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events.

The Kremlin press service added that the heads of the two countries also discussed "current topics" on the international and regional agenda, including the Russian presidency in BRICS (!!!).
