Court verdict was issued against Muzaffar Soliev, who served as Minister of Housing and Communal Economy from 2017 to 2021, and the mayor of Nurafshan city, Tashkent province from 2021 to 2023.
The case against Soliev was heard on March 13 of this year in the Shaikhontohur district criminal court, .which found him guilty under Empropriety or embezzlement by way of fraud, Official duty fraud charges and sentenced him to 7 years in a general colony.
The appellate court left the verdict of the first instance court unchanged with its ruling on July 30 of this year.
On January 15, 2021, he was appointed the mayor of Nurafshan city. Soliev also served as the Deputy Minister of Defense for Personnel. In early 2023, it was reported that he was involved in an investigation related to his work as a minister.
