148 officials of Microcreditbank, Business Development Bank and Turonbank were found to be holding stakes in 155 business entities, the Anti-Corruption Agency reported.

In particular, 94 officials of Microcreditbank hold stakes in 96 companies, 41 officials of Business Development Bank are holding stakes in 46 companies and 13 officials of Turonbank are holding stakes in 13 companies.

The agency reportedly sent representations to the banks. The banks, in turn, issued warnings to officials engaged in entrepreneurial activity. Violations of the law are gradually being rectified.

The Guarantees of freedom of entrepreneurial activity Law and the State civil service Law prohibit civil servants from doing business, the agency added.

However, the attorney Saidali Mukhtoraliev wrote in his Telegram channel that banks are deemed commercial organizations by law and do not have the powers of state bodies.
