President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at a meeting of the Legislative Chamber on Wednesday, where Abdulla Aripov’s candidacy was re-approved for the Prime minister role, spoke about the need to improve state youth policy.
It is important to nurture the national pride among the young people in combination with with respect for universal values, the president said.
He noted that everything will be mobilized to educate children as holders of modern knowledge, a broad worldview and in-demand professions, as well as to bring them closer to science, information technology, spirituality, art, literature and sports, "sparing no means and opportunities."
"Today, only a nation that has such advanced young people, such a devoted intelligentsia and a people united on the path to the prosperity of the Motherland will be able to ensure its national interests. We have two main supports, two vital pillars - the economy and spirituality. "A spiritually great nation will also become great in economic terms," he said.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that steps were being taken to enhance the atmosphere of openness and freedom in society, mutual respect and harmony between ethnicities and religions, as well as to ensure freedom of speech, press and conscience, will be continued.
In the context of an extremely unstable and alarming situation in the world, the president noted, the most important goal remains the preservation and protection of the independence and sovereignty of the country, as well as the peaceful and free life of the people as the most valuable asset.
In conditions when various threats and challenges are growing in the world, we will focus on further enhancing the combat and spiritual potential of the country's Armed Forces, the head of state emphasized.
