On November 28, 2024, the Embassy of Romania in Tashkent organized a gala reception on the occasion of the National Day of Romania. The event was attended by officials from various ministries and departments, members of the diplomatic corps, scientists and cultural figures, and representatives of the business community.

During the celebration, the guests were presented with a photo exhibition dedicated to the 106th anniversary of the Great Union of Romania, as well as videos about the country's cultural heritage and tourist attractions. The Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Uzbekistan Daniel Cristian Ciobanu emphasized that the development of bilateral relations with Uzbekistan is one of Romania's priorities in the Central Asian region. "This year, the key event was the round of political consultations between our Ministries of Foreign Affairs at the level of Secretary of State/Deputy Minister (Bucharest, November 4, 2024). The previous round took place in Samarkand on November 18, 2022. "The new round follows the excellent meeting last year between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Her Excellency Mrs. Luminita Odobescu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, His Excellency Mr. Bakhtiyor Saidov," said Daniel Cristian Ciobanu.

According to him, the meeting of the Joint Romanian-Uzbek Commission on Road Transport (Bucharest, 27-28 March 2024) was a valuable contribution to strengthening bilateral cooperation. A landmark moment is the liberalization of bilateral road transport. Romania pays great attention to the development of the port of Constanta and the promotion of the international transport route Black Sea - Caspian Sea.

This year we have witnessed a growing interest of Romanian companies and agencies in attracting labor from Uzbekistan to Romania. The number of Romanian tourists visiting Uzbekistan is also increasing," added Daniel Cristian Ciobanu.
