Uzbekistan Visa Facilitation Center opened in Lahore, Pakistan on Wednesday. The Center, inaugurated between Uzbek Embassy in Pakistan and Meezab Group, a major travel firm company in Punjab province, marks a significant step in boosting tourism between the two countries.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by local officials in Punjab, diplomats, representatives of the tourism sector, media, and members of the public. Guests were briefed on Uzbekistan’s rich culture, historical heritage, and diverse tourism opportunities.
Tashkent to Lahore regular direct flights were underscored as a key factor in increasing the tourists flow between the two countries. A presentation showcased Uzbekistan's potential in various tourism sectors, including pilgrimage, gastronomic, medical, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism. The architectural monuments, national cuisine, and high-quality service offered in Uzbekistan attracted significant interest from the attendees.
The Uzbek Ambassador, Alisher Tukhtaev, who attended the event via conference call platform, emphasized the comprehensive reforms initiated by Uzbekistan's leadership to develop the tourism sector. He noted that Uzbekistan has become one of the most attractive destinations for foreign tourists in recent years.
During the event, officials of Pakistani tourism companies engaged in discussions about future collaboration projects. They voiced strong interest in Uzbekistan as a travel destination, noting that the center would simplify the visa process and open new opportunities for Pakistani nationals planning visits to Uzbekistan.
