Law enforcement bodies in Tashkent arrested an Uchtepa district mayor’s assistant in makhallas in charge of business support, employment and poverty reduction while he was receiving $30 thousand, UzA said.

A criminal case was opened against the man under Fraud committed on an especially large scale charge and Giving a bribe on an especially large scale charge through Types of accomplices to a crime charge of the Criminal Code.
The detainee had previously been convicted three times under Embezzlement or misappropriation charge, Fraud charge, Abuse of power or official authority charge and other articles of the Criminal Code.
The position of mayor’s assistant was introduced in 2022 in each of the more than 9,300 mahallas that existed at that time in Uzbekistan.
