Uzbekistan will create a joint scientific satellite in cooperation with the Turkic states, said the head of Aerospace Department at Uzbekcosmos agency, Mukhiddin Ibragimov at a press conference in Tashkent Thursday.

The launch of the satellite is reportedly scheduled for mid-2026. According to Ibragimov, the device will not be Uzbekistan-made in its entirety, but one of its parts is now being developed by Uzbek scientists.

The project is aimed at developing skills in the development, assembly, launch and management of satellites. Earlier, in 2023, Mukhiddin Ibragimov mentioned the CubeSat scientific and educational satellite, the testing of which was expected at facilities based in the United Arab Emirates.
