Two people were killed after being by Damas minivan in Toshloq district of Fergana province, the Bu Kun program of Zo‘r TV channel reported.
The accident occurred on the internal road of Yakkatut mahalla. A drunk driver while speeding first hit a 71-year-old man riding a bicycle in front of him, and then, having driven into the oncoming lane, ran over a child walking along the side of the road with his mother.
The man died at the scene, and the five-year-old girl died later in the hospital.
A criminal case has been opened, with investigation underway. The report added that 2,794 violations related to driving a car while being drunk were committed in Fergana province in 2024.
