On January 13, Ilya Puts, a Russian citizen, contacted the Chilanzar district department of the Employment Ministry with a request to help recover unpaid wages for the period from June to November 2024, the press service of the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction said.

The request was reportedly reviewed, and the man was paid wages totaling 57 thousand US dollars.

According to Enter Engineering, Ilya Puts worked as the reconstruction and modernization project manager at Fergana Oil Refinery.

The detailed design was developed by UzLITI Engineering, while Enter Engineering acted as the general EPC contractor.

Hwoever, the department did not rush to resolve the problems of hundreds of Uzbeks, whose wages were delayed, namely in June last year, stories surfaced about such delays.

In May 2022, the State Asset Management Agency reported of a reached agreement to sell a 100% stake in the Fergana Oil Refinery for $100 million to Sanoat Energetika Guruhi (SANEG). In May last year, it was reported that the investor had not paid for the asset at that time and owned only 41.5% of the plant. In August, it became known that SANEG was selling two hydrogen production units at the Fergana Oil Refinery to the American Air Products for $140 million.
