Today, January 30, Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid flowers at the Islam Karimov’s monument in Tashkent, the presidential press service said today.
The ceremony was attended by MPs, senators, officials of the Presidential Administration, the government members, the public.
Quran Surahs and prayers were read at the ceremony. The participants remembered the merits and virtues of Islam Karimov, who dedicated his life to serving the people. Similar events were also held in Samarkand and Karshi.
At the initiative of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the memory of the first president has been immortalized: his birthday is celebrated annually. A scientific and educational memorial complex has been erected in Tashkent, and visiting the mausoleum of Islam Karimov during visits to Samarkand has become a tradition.
