The traditional Teacher of the Year Contest among school teachers in Uzbekistan will take place every two years from 2026. The new regulation for the Contest were approved by the April 28 Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution of, the Ministry of Justice said.
Contesters will compete in the relevant discipline, and primary school teachers - in the field of primary education. Participants will be registerred through a special platform of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.
The Contest will be held in three stages:
- Stage 1 - in October-December, the theoretical knowledge of candidates on the subject, pedagogical skills and professional standards are assessed;
- Stage 2 - in January-February, a video recording of the candidate's lesson is posted on a special platform for evaluation by the jury;
- Stage 3 - in April-May, the spiritual and educational activities of candidates are assessed.
A separate Contest - "Leader of Professional Excellence" will be held among the principals of pedagogical excellence centers, also every two years.
The winners of both Contests will be awarded a cash prize of 1,400 times the base calculation units (525 million soums).
