The chief of the Chamber of Commerce, Davron Vakhabov, paid a working visit to Kabul and Kandahar, where he held talks with officials of the caretaker government of Afghanistan and executives of local companies. Discussions centered around the implementation of projects in textiles and fiber processing.

During the visit, Vakhabov signed a memorandum of partnership with Abdul Hamid Akhundzada, head of the State Textile Corporation of Afghanistan. The signing ceremony was attended by Anwar-ul-Haq, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, along with the ministers of finance, economy, mining and petroleum.

Vakhabov also visited the industrial zone in Kandahar, where he explored the potential for launching joint ventures using local capacities and discussed plans to restore and restart Uzbek-made equipment.

The parties reached an agreement to jointly implement projects aimed at processing a minimum of 50,000 tons of cotton. Afghanistan will export cotton yarn to Uzbekistan, while dyed fabrics for garment production will be exported in the opposite direction.

Earlier in March, Vakhabov visited the Nasaji Textile Factory in Mazar-i-Sharif. where, the parties agreed on delivering cotton fiber and yarn to Uzbekistan, and textiles and semi-finished goods for RMG sector.
