On the directive of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan delivered a 183-ton batch of humanitarian aid to Balkh Province (Afghanistan) on the ocassion of the Eid al-Adha holiday, the press service of the Surkhandarya province governor’s office said.

The humanitarian aid was handed over as a symbol of the kindness and support of the Uzbek people. The aid, including flour, rice, sugar, pasta, confectionery, vegetable oil, instant products, red beans and mung beans, was handed over in the city of Hairatan.

The hand-over ceremony was attended by the President’s Envoy for Afghanistan Ismatilla Irgashev, the Surkhandarya province governor Ulugbek Kosimov, the deputy head of Balkh Province Nurulhodi Abuidris, as well as official representatives of both sides.

The Afghan officials expressed gratitude to the President and people of Uzbekistan for the humanitarian support provided and conveyed sincere congratulations on the holiday of Eid al-Adha.
