The Deputy Foreign Minister Olim Abdullaev met with the Parliamentary Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Hisashi Matsumoto on May 28 in Tokyo.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the parties focused on visa liberalization, humanitarian and business exchanges, revision of security recommendations, as well as expanding cooperation in the areas of labor migration and tourism.

Noting the positive trend in the Uzbek-Japanese relations, Hisashi Matsumoto emphasized that Japan, as a key partner in Central Asia, is committed to strengthening cooperation with Uzbekistan and voiced hope for its further deepening.

The parties reiterated their readiness to continue close contacts between the Foreign Ministries in all areas of mutual cooperation.
