Two markhor goats were killed in the Surkhan State Nature Reserve, the press service of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change said.
These rare animals have been added to the Red Book of Uzbekistan and the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
During the raid, ecol police officers detained three men, the Russian nationals Kh. Sh., Sh. Zh. and V. M. with evidence.
The damage caused to nature was estimated at 1.5 billion soums. Since the crime occurred on the territory of the reserve, the amount was tripled to 4.5 billion soums (350 thousand USD). Reportedly, the collected evidence was handed over to law enforcement agencies.
