The Cabinet issued a resolution on the implementation of AI-related projects in 2025-2026, which includes an item on a purchase by the Ministry of Digital Technologies of a High-Performance Computing (HPC) cluster and large servers for INHA University in Tashkent before June 1, 2026.

An HPC cluster, or High-Performance Computing cluster, is a system of interconnected computers (nodes) working together to achieve significantly higher computational power than a single computer. These clusters are designed to handle complex problems and large datasets by distributing tasks across multiple nodes, enabling parallel processing and faster results.

As per the resolution, the following devices will be purchased for INHA University:

  • an HPC cluster, which includes graphics processing units (GPUs) necessary for parallel computing, machine learning and other projects on the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies;
  • large database servers.

Reportedly, the purchase of these server devices will be financed from funds contributed by the Uzbekistan Fund for Reconstruction and Development. The hardware is scheduled to be delivered to Tashkent “by the end of this year, perhaps in the fall.”
