58 percent of the self-employed as of July 1, 2025 were men and 42 percent were women. The total quantity of the self-employed rose by 56 percent compared to the same period last year, the Tax Committee said in a report,
Most self-employed provided in household services, while the number of people employed in agriculture, manufacturing, and services increased by 64-66% compared to last year.
By provinces, the largest number of self-employed was in Samarkand province - more than half a million individuals. Next in line were Tashkent with 538.8 thousand individuals, and Kashkadarya with 517.5 thousand individuals.
184.2 thousand individuals opted for passenger transportation by light motor vehicles as their self-employment.
As of July 1, 2024, more than 3.5 million people had been registered as self-employed.
