The South Korean Korea District Heating Corporation (KDHC) will implement its heating technologies in Uzbekistan, The Korea Times said.
Earlier this week, KDHC President Jeong Yong-ki met with Uzbek ambassador, Alisher Abdusalomov. The parties discussed plans to implement modern heating systems in New Tashkent and other cities as part of the K-Heating initiative.
“We are ready to share Korea’s experience and technology for the successful establishment of an eco-friendly K-heating system in New Tashkent,” Jeong Yong-ki said.
KDHC has already set up a dedicated team to work on projects in Uzbekistan. The team is providing consulting services to local operators on modernizing heating networks and supporting infrastructure planning.
The company is also organizing expert roundtables for Korean exporters. In addition, the CEO announced plans to launch a special training program – the K-Heating Learning Program – to prepare Uzbek specialists.
Following the talks, the Uzbek delegation visited a KDHC-operated combined heat and power plant in the city of Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province. Guests were briefed on the operational capabilities of the heating infrastructure at the control center.
According to the publication, the K-Heating project is part of KDHC’s “Northern Business Strategy,” which targets the markets of Central Asia and Mongolia. Within this framework, the company plans to expand its presence in the region and promote Korean heating technologies as a model for “energy-efficient urban development.”
