On Friday, September 5, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev a telephone conversation spoke to the President of the United States Donald Trump, the Uzbek president’s press service said.
The parties reportedly discussed the aspects of strengthening the Uzbek-American strategic partnership ties and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
"At the beginning of the conversation, the US President highly valued and supported the irreversible reforms implemented in New Uzbekistan in recent years, aimed at modernizing the economy and improving the well-being of the population," the statement said.
While, Shavkat Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated President Donald Trump on the impressive results of the domestic and foreign policy of the US Administration, commending the contribution and efforts of the United States to the peaceful settlement of international and regional conflicts, ensuring global security and stability.
The parties also focused on enhancing the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries and on promoting projects in various sectors and increasing the volume of bilateral trade.
In recent years, there has been a steady increase in the two-way trade figures. In 2024, the bilateral trade increased by 15%.
The portfolio of bilateral projects includes the areas of civil aviation, critical mineral resources, electrical engineering, energy, agriculture, digital technologies, the financial sector, innovation, education and many others.
The parties emphasized that a number of bilateral meetings and negotiations with major US companies and organizations will be held this month to establish long-term and sustainable partnerships.
In addition, the countries cooperate in the field of security, primarily in the fight against terrorism, extremism and illegal migration, while expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges, with branches of some US universities opened in Tashkent.
They also mentioned about the Uzbekistan national team which has qualified to the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The US leader sincerely wished good luck to the Uzbekistan team, the statement concluded.
