Tower crane fell during mointing at the construction site of Dombirobod City residential complex in Tashkent’s Chilanzar district on the evening of Monday, the Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety said.
According to the Tashkent Police department, a 25-year-old crane operator who was in the crane cabin died, and two more workers who participated in the installation of the crane (aged 21 and 25) were injured and transported to a hospital.
The investigation found that the accident occurred due to failure by the installation firm to comply with technical requirements. In particular, the lower part of the crane was not securely fastened, and it overturned.
A commission has been formed to study the circumstances of the incident, and a criminal case was opened under the Violation of labor protection rules resulting in the death of a person or other serious consequences of the Criminal Code.
