A huge gas reserve has been discovered on the Ustyurt plateau in Karakalpakstan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced in today’s meeting.
Our country has huge reserves of subsoil resources. Previously, oil and gas exploration was conducted only at a depth of 2.5-3 thousand meters. This year, for the first time in the history of our industry, a huge gas reserve was discovered in Ustyurt, after drilling 6.5 thousand meters deep, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
The president underscored that in order to implement the Industrial Revolution 4.0, the world’s demand for technological minerals such as tellurium, lithium, selenium, graphite, and molybdenum is growing many folds. “According to analyses, 10-15 percent of the world’s tungsten, molybdenum, lead, and titanium reserves are buried in our region,” he added.
"To transform these vast resources into high-value-added products, we need, first of all, science, knowledge, and innovation," the president said.
