The Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Shukhrat Kholmukhammedov hosted the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov in Samarkand city yesterday.
The counterparts discussed the ways to expand military cooperation, improving the joint training system, establishing an exchange of experience and practical knowledge, as well as developing bilateral military and military-technical cooperation, and to strengthen cooperation in the fight against international terrorism.
The main goal of the meeting was to advance practical cooperation that would serve to ensure peace, unity, and sustainable development.
Today, October 21, , the defense ministers of Central Asian countries accompanied by the Azerbaijani Defense Minister will observe the "Birlik-2025" (Unity-2025) regional training exercises, at Kattakurgan training ground of the Central Military District with the participation of units of the Defense Ministries of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan.
