Two teens from Andijan have been sentenced for carjacking and assaulting a police officer in Buka, the Zamon TV program reported in a story.

F.Sh. (born May 14, 2007) from the Khojaabad district of the Andijan province and the minor F.Kh. (born December 2, 2007) got into a GM Cobalt car in Samarkand to get to Namangan. In the Syrdarya province, they stole the car when the driver went to the restroom at a gas station.

On the night of August 1-2, in Buka, they were stopped by a police officer, Major Nurbek Shodiyev. While transporting the detainees to the police station, one of the teenagers stabbed him in the neck. After that, the teenagers stole the officer's Matiz car and fled the scene.

"I wasn't driving very fast, I was talking on the phone. When I turned off the phone and put it in my pocket, the boy sitting behind me suddenly stabbed me in the neck. We stopped, I tried to stop the bleeding and turned off the engine, I wanted to get down to the canal. At that moment, one of them got behind the wheel, started the car and drove away," said Major Nurbek Shodiyev.

Later, the teenagers also hit a traffic police inspector who was trying to stop their car in the Akhangaran district. The officer sustained injuries of moderate severity.

The Buka district court found F.Sh. and F.Kh. guilty of attempted premeditated murder and two counts of vehicle theft. The minor F.Kh. was sentenced to 9.5 years in prison, and F.Sh. to 15.5 years.
