The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the US President Donald Trump at the White House in Washington on Thursday.

According to the Uzbek president's press service, during the meeting in the Oval Office, the two leaders discussed the ways to strengthen the Uzbek-American strategic partnership ties, to enhance political dialogue, and to expand trade, economic, investment, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

They also focused on the implementation of agreements reached in New York in September, when the presidents met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session.

The heads of state also exchanged views on the global and regional issues, including deepening cooperation between Central Asia and the US in the "C5+1" format.

"Shavkat Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated Donald Trump on his high achievements in implementing the US national and foreign policies. He particularly underscored Donald Trump’s personal contribution and efforts towards the peaceful resolution of major international and regional conflicts.

Donald Trump welcomed the fruitful outcomes of the Uzbek president's meetings and negotiations with representatives of the US government, CEOs of major American companies and financial institutions.

They also emphasized the importance of creating and improving institutional mechanisms for promoting joint projects.

At the conclusion of the talks, Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited Donald Trump to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan at a convenient time.
