President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, speaking at the C5+1 Summit of the leaders of the Central Asian and the US President Trump at the White House in Washington on Thursday, highly praised the role of US President Donald Trump in advancing cooperation with the Central Asia. He also expressed hope that Donald Trump would be able to stop Russia's war against Ukraine.
"We highly appreciate your personal contribution to the rebooting of the C5+1 format. Before this, no President of the United States of America has treated Central Asia the way you do. I personally and all my colleagues are grateful to you. We feel your attention, your attitude – and this means a great deal to us. Thank you very much for this," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
He emphasized that Donald Trump's contribution to ensuring international stability has been recognized in Uzbekistan.
"I have already told you this: in Uzbekistan, you are called the President of Peace. You have done so much – you have been able to stop eight wars. And I am confident that only you can stop the war between Russia and Ukraine. We very much hope for this," Mirziyoyev stated.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev underscored that the current summit demonstrates that the US sees Central Asia as a key partner. "Together we are building a future based on trust and a desire for creation," he said.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev put forward a number of initiatives to strengthen cooperation within the C5+1 format.
"I propose creating a permanent Secretariat, which will be located on a rotational basis in the Central Asian countries. Furthermore, we propose to set up a Coordination Council for Investment and Trade and ensure a systematic dialogue between government structures and businesses. We support the idea of creating a Central Asian Investment Partnership – an agreement on this was reached back in 2020," the president underscored. Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of joint projects with the United States in the fields of transport, energy, and communications.
“We are ready to consistently work with the United States on the implementation of transport, communication, and energy projects connecting Central Asia with Europe, using the ‘Trump Route’,” said the head of state.
He announced the development of a three-year plan for the implementation of an investment program between Uzbekistan and the United States worth $34 billion. “These are large projects, and we discussed them with you both in New York and today.”
“This summit is a landmark event, and your attitude towards all of us demonstrates great support for Central Asia and the strengthening of the partnership between our region and the United States. The ‘C5+1’ format should become an effective mechanism for practical cooperation,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
He proposed holding the next C5-1 Summit in 2026 in Samarkand.
“I am convinced, Mr. Trump, that under your leadership this partnership will be strong,” concluded the President of Uzbekistan.
