President Mirziyoyev signed decree aimed at improving social protection of public medical facilities professionals. From 2026, medical workers will be entitled for an annual bonus on Medical Workers' Day in an amount not less than the minimum wage (now 1.2 million soums), to be funded by the Financial Incentives Fund.

A national contest will be organized in several categories: Best Manager, Best Polyclinic, Best Doctor, Best mid-level medical worker, etc, with one-time bonuses for winners:

  • for medical facilities – 500 million soums;
  • for doctors and managers – 30 million soums;
  • winners will be nominated for Honorable Healthcare Worker title.

From April 1, 2026, public medical institutions will switch to a five-day business week with on-call duties on weekends and holidays. From January 1, 2026, a number of additional incentives will be adopted for public healthcare workers:

  • doctors who introduce new treatment methods with proven results will get 50 basic calculation units (BCU) in bonus;
  • children of medical workers with 15 years of experience will get refund for up to 30% of the cost of education (no more than 15 BCU);
  • expenses for publishing articles in journals with an impact factor will be fully covered;
  • annually, the government will cover 25% of the initial mortgage payment for 500 medical workers;
  • employees who have passed national accreditation will get a 10% salary rise.

Also, medical workers with 3 years of experience will be entitled to free high-tech medical care once a year, and those with 15 years of experience will receive free vouchers to recreational facilities. The size of payments for governmental online services for them will be halved. The government will contribute 100 billion soums annually to finance the program.
